The Gentle Touch
Hi, I’m Emma. I started The Gentle Touch in 2012 when my firstborn was a year old. I found becoming a new mum to be a transformative experience – and one that led to a passion for maternal mental health and wellbeing.
The Gentle Touch is my commitment to helping mums get more airspace: I offer non-judgemental support, and practical and emotional help, whether it’s through my one-on-one mentoring sessions, sleep consultations, or baby massage.
My two boys have taught me – and continue to teach me – so much about love, patience and strength. And those values are as applicable to my business as they are to my home life. It’s a privilege to be taken into the trust of mums – and a joy to feel like I’m making a difference.

Who I am and what I do:

My passion has always been coaching and mentoring women. Before I set up The Gentle Touch, I spent 20 years training, supervising and mentoring teams of women of all ages, and from all walks of life.
Having children of my own made me realise not only the value of support for new mums, but also how difficult it can be to find it – particularly for those who are finding things tricky. I experienced postnatal illness with my second child, and that lived experience helps me to encourage and support mums who are feeling overwhelmed. And it’s why I believe wholeheartedly in what I do. The postnatal support a woman and her family receive can make all the difference to their transition to parenthood and beyond.
